Parasite Eve might be a little strange, but it's a good strange. Its elaborate story and unique gameplay mixed with its disturbing horror cutscenes made Parasite Eve a horror game like no other. While it is still fun, the combat is a bit basic and could use some tweaks and improvements. Players must use a giant sphere to target enemies, and the game pauses when the sphere appears granting a variety of different attacks for Aya to use. The game uses a real-time combat system similar to those in RPGs.

The whole game is highly detailed, so a graphical update would be able to show off what a next-generation console can do. The upcoming PS5's graphics are lightyears past the original PlayStation, meaning a modern version of Parasite Eve would look amazing. Although the game is still a blast to play, its graphics are more than a bit dated by modern standards, though the cutscenes are still pretty impressive. The original Parasite Eve didn't necessarily age well. Out of the three, most fans consider the first game to be the best, as the sequels focused more on action rather than horror.
